Losing the Plot(kin)

Losing the Plot(kin) Work in Progress (Double Bill)

Two established Brighton performers. One hour. All brand new material.

Fanny Dent (Leicester Comedy Festival Best Variety Show nominee 2024) and Simon Plotkin (Do The Thing) team up for a split bill of fresh, work-in-progress comedy. Expect 30 minutes each of bold new ideas, characters, jokes and beautifully controlled chaos.

Fanny Dent is known for her comedy burlesque and character cabaret: playful, theatrical and gloriously unpredictable. Her previous Fringe runs have sold out, and she’s built a reputation for inventive audience interaction that’s as warm as it is mischievous. Her new material continues in that spirit: A cabaret character act with innovative audience participation. Funny, real and with heart… We are invited to consider the people we see day to day and laugh with them instead of at them.

Simon Plotkin is a familiar face on the Brighton comedy scene. He’s one third of the improvised musical hit 'Do The Thing', which enjoyed a sell-out run at Brighton Fringe last year and returns to the Spiegelgarden this year. Known for his quick wit, playful absurdity and razor-sharp timing, Simon brings stand-up and character comedy to this solo set – trying out new ideas before they become his next big thing.

This is a chance to see two Fringe favourites up close as they test-drive brand new material. It’ll be loose, lively and full of surprises. Come for the chaos, stay for the craft.

Ticket types this year are Paid, Pay What You Want and Free - this is how it works: Paid: The show is fully ticketed and you pay in advance or on the door; Pay What You Want: You can choose to buy a ticket in advanced to guarantee entry and what to pay over a minimum amount OR turn up at the venue to get in for free in any space that is left; Free: The show is free entry and can be ticketed or unticketed.
