Natter is an award-winning comedy set in 1980s Salford - following the trials and tribulations of Helen and Linda, two "old women" who spend their time grappling with useless husbands, a homosexual son and, most importantly, what's on telly!
(* Helen & Linda may, or may not, be played by two gay men in frocks!)
Winning Best Comedy at Manchester Fringe 2024. Natter is written by, and stars, award-winning artist, Joe Henry-Evans (Best Newcomer, Manchester Fringe 2021) alongside John Thacker, and directed by Qweerdog's artistic director, Stewart Campbell (Canal Street Lonely Hearts Club, Hope Mill Theatre).
Join us to find out if Helen is having it off with the vicar; just what links the Didsbury mafia with Linda's gay son; and what exactly does Helen have against poor old Cilla Black!
‘Neither Henry-Evans nor Thacker are convincing as women, but that is beside the point.’ British Theatre Guide
‘Impressively, Natter avoids sentimentality... it handles potentially traumatic subjects in a way which is inspiring and great fun to watch.’ British Theatre Guide
