Marcus Dean Once Kidnapped A Child (When He Was Also A Child)

A storytelling stand-up show that tackles the age-old question - can humans really change?

We’ve all done things we’re ashamed of. And usually, we just push the memory deep down and pretend it never happened. Not me. I’m doing a whole stand-up show about them. I’ve gathered up all the worst things I’ve ever done in my life and turned them into a comedy show. And the maddest thing about it? Kidnapping a child is probably only number two.

This is my third stand-up special after “Foreigner” (Edinburgh Fringe 2023) and “Has Anyone Seen My Dad?” (Brighton & Edinburgh Fringe 2024) which won Best Stand Up at Brighton Fringe in the Seagull’s Brighton Fringe awards.

By getting all of the worst stories in my life off my chest, I’m gonna try and convince the audience that I’m no longer that person. Will it work or will I just get cancelled? Turn up to find out and at the very least get “an hour of incredibly relatable material for everyone in the room.” (The Seagull)

Ticket types this year are Paid, Pay What You Can and Free - this is how it works: Paid: The show is fully ticketed and you pay in advance or on the door; Pay What You Can: You can choose to buy a ticket in advanced to guarantee entry and what to pay over a minimum amount OR turn up at the venue to get in for free in any space that is left; Free: The show is free entry and can be ticketed or unticketed. Watch the show, and the performer will ask for donations at the end for those that would like to contribute.
