Live and Peculiar

Comedy, live music, art and more take centre-stage in Live & Peculiar, a critically acclaimed cabaret show debuting in Brighton for the FIRST time - from double-act Absana Rutherford and Jack McMinn (Musical Comedy Awards Semi-finalist 2024), along with some special guests. At once a variety show, an art gallery, a cabaret and a life-changing experience (Maybe? Who knows? We can’t predict the future.), Live & Peculiar is many things. Mundane it is not. Hilarious it is (hopefully).

Taking place in a strange Lynchian lounge, the Live & Peculiar format got its start in Oxford in 2023, as a show which celebrates comedy and performance of all shapes and sizes. Since then, it has played host to a myriad of talent both established and up-and-coming - ranging from stand-ups and live music, to an anthropomorphic cannibal banana set to sad jazz and a man dressed as a bee having honey drizzled into his mouth. We can’t imagine things will be any more sensible this time round.

As well as a dynamic show on stage, we showcase a small pop-up museum and art gallery, and welcome our audience to have a look around and settle in. Live & Peculiar is the bridge between the old and new worlds of live entertainment – between the weird and the wonderful.
