Two Weird Guys Who Are Gay

Two of London's most exciting queer voices on the comedy circuit - Dick Denham and James Murphy - bring their split bill WIP show 'Two Weird Guys Who Are Gay' to the Brighton Fringe for one night only!

Dick will offer his surreal observations on being genderqueer in a heteronormative world, getting older, mental health, and the aspects of British culture that we all love to be indifferent about normally.

James will give a unique insight into life as a 6ft8 gay man with purposeful absurdity and fiery whimsy - from popped lungs to marriage and kids, he'll question society's expectations and the future that lies ahead.

Dick Denham was the LGBTQ+ New Act Runner-Up 2022, has performed at various venues including Angel Comedy, Manchester's Frog & Bucket, the Pleasance Theatre (as part of Nick Helm's 2023 Christmas show), and has been described by Zoe Lyons as “really fun” and Stephen Bailey as a “joy to watch”.

James Murphy won the British Comedy Guide’s Performance Award 2022, was a Max Turner New Act Finalist in 2022 and reached the final of the 2Northdown New Act Competition 2021. He has been described by Chortle as “an elaborate, creative writer able to turn a phrase that’s comically off-kilter”.

Ticket types this year are Paid, Pay What You Can and Free - this is how it works: Paid: The show is fully ticketed and you pay in advance or on the door; Pay What You Can: You can choose to buy a ticket in advanced to guarantee entry and what to pay over a minimum amount OR turn up at the venue to get in for free in any space that is left; Free: The show is free entry and can be ticketed or unticketed. Watch the show, and the performer will ask for donations at the end for those that would like to contribute.
