Award-winning young comedian Rob Oldham is going to do an hour of stand-up. There are no two ways about it.

At Edinburgh this year he bagged the Amused Moose Breakthrough Comic Award with his ‘quirky, offbeat sensibilities that distil into smart jokes that rarely sound like anyone else’s’ (Chortle).

This new hour of stand-up looks at the political and the personal, and how one gets in the way of the other. Building on his 2017 Fringe show, ‘Brink’, Rob considers how nostalgia and memory colour the things we do, and how we switch between habit and novelty in our search for happiness.

'Fellow' combines political stand-up, surreal monologues set to music, absurd set pieces, and ambient grumbling. To put it enthusiastically, ‘You have not lived until you have heard one of Rob Oldham’s tonal prose poems.’ (Ed Fest Mag).

If you sometimes get so inspired by Blue Planet II that you become inexplicably sad, or if you like flannels, then this show is for you. If you strongly disagree with these ideas then the show is also for you because a diversity of opinion is good, up to a point.

Smart and silly, timely and accessible, Rob Oldham is an exciting young comic with ‘Diamond ability’ (Broadway Baby).
